A huge thank you to Andrew Lee Davies and everyone involved in the fundraiser events for raising an incredible £1,650 for the Cab through Thronkfest and the Newport Marathon.
Andrew from Thronk, has been a massive supporter of the Cab and the work we do within the community, and this fundraising effort has already made a real difference to our space and the people who use it every week.
So far, the money raised has helped us purchase:
- Outdoor furniture for our new outdoor seating area
- A brand new 32-channel stage box to improve and strengthen our live sound system
- Large amounts of XLR leads and technical equipment
- A huge supply of snack bags for members of our homeless community
As a non-profit organisation, these are often the kinds of practical but essential items that can be difficult for us to afford. Most of our funding goes directly into delivering projects, workshops, activities and support for the communities we work with, meaning there is rarely spare capital for equipment upgrades, venue improvements or emergency resources.
Fundraising and donations like this genuinely help keep the Cab running as a welcoming, creative and supportive community space. They help us improve the experience for bands, audiences, workshop participants and vulnerable members of the community who rely on the space each week.
We are incredibly grateful to Andrew and everyone who donated, attended events or supported the marathon effort. Community support like this reminds us exactly why spaces like the Cab matter.
