The Cab Update

It’s been an exciting few weeks at The Cab, with plenty happening behind the scenes as well as in front of the stage.

We’ve been continuing to improve the building, with more decorating taking place in the green room areas, hallway and stairwell. Every improvement helps us make The Cab an even more welcoming and functional space for the artists, volunteers and community groups who use it throughout the year.

One of the highlights this month was preparing the green room to host the legendary Agnostic Front before their Newport show. The iconic New York hardcore punk band, who have been at the forefront of the scene since the 1980s, performed at the Corn Exchange on 9 July, and we were delighted to welcome them to The Cab for the day. It was a surreal and proud moment to see hardcore legend Vinnie Stigma relaxing in our new rooftop space and making the most of the green room before heading off to the gig.

Moments like these remind us that The Cab continues to be a place where grassroots community activity sits comfortably alongside internationally respected artists. Whether it’s a local workshop, a community theatre rehearsal or a visit from punk royalty, we’re proud to provide a space where creativity, culture and community come together.
