    Hi, this is Grim! Although it’s still early days, the Freestyle Skateboarding social space at The Cab has already been an incredible success. From the very beginning, we’ve hit the ground running and have been delighted by the response from the community. One of the biggest assets has been the new outdoor seating area.   • Pirates in the Port at The Cab


    What a fantastic weekend for Newport! The annual Pirates in the Port Shanty and Folk Festival brought music, song and plenty of pirate spirit to the city, with performances taking place across more than 15 venues. We were delighted that The Cab was part of the festival, welcoming performers and audiences for a weekend packed with sea shanties, folk music and a great community atmosphere. The venue was buzzing throughout, with visitors enjoying live music, good company and the unique spirit that makes this festival such a highlight of Newport’s cultural calendar.   • Gigs at The Cab


    Gigs at The Cab have gone from strength to strength. From December 2025 we’ve never been busier, with more and more regulars joining the fun and the majority of gigs selling out it’s created not only amazing gigs but an amazing community. People of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life coming together to make something of the local scene is really special.   • Freestyle Skateboarding Community at The Cab


    We are excited to welcome yet another community into The Cab family – the Freestyle Skateboarding Community! From Saturday 9th May, Grim will be bringing Freestyle skateboarding to The Cab every Saturday, creating a relaxed and welcoming space for skaters, newcomers and anyone who simply wants to hang out, have a chat and be part of the atmosphere. Alongside skateboards and merchandise, there’ll be coffee, soft drinks, music and a place to meet like-minded people in the heart of Newport.   • Thronk Fundraiser


    A huge thank you to Andrew Lee Davies and everyone involved in the fundraiser events for raising an incredible £1,650 for the Cab through Thronkfest and the Newport Marathon. Andrew from Thronk, has been a massive supporter of the Cab and the work we do within the community, and this fundraising effort has already made a real difference to our space and the people who use it every week.
