Every week is alive with creativity, connection and community with Reality Theatre.
Our doors are open to people of all ages from 16+ and abilities, offering drama, movement, music, and social activities designed to inspire confidence, spark imagination, and bring people together. From performance sessions and outreach groups to our vibrant Social Club and Rob’s School of Rock, each activity is shaped by the needs and interests of the people who take part. Whether you’re here to create, to learn, or simply to belong, there’s a space for you at the Cab—every week, all year round.

Our Work

Creative Arts for the 50-plus: Confidence, Community & Expression

At Reality Theatre CIC, we believe creativity has no age limit. Our 50+ programme offers weekly drama, performance and movement sessions both at The Cab and in community locations through our partnership with Hedyn.
Each group shapes its own creative journey — from gentle movement and confidence-building drama to devised scenes, storytelling and performance. Sessions are tailored to the needs, abilities and interests of participants, creating a welcoming space where people can reconnect with creativity, build friendships and discover new skills.
Throughout the year, groups work towards sharing their work with the wider community. These performances — whether intimate showcases or larger ensemble pieces — showcase the talent, humour and heart of our 50+ creatives, while celebrating the power of community arts to bring people together.
Along with drama and performance, we deliver arts and crafts sessions at the Cab, the Riverfront and Nightingale Court.
Whether you’re returning to the arts or trying something brand new, you’re welcome here. Creativity starts whenever you’re ready. Age is just a number.

Drama & Arts for Young People 16-plus and Adults with ALN
Our sessions are designed to be fun, accessible and person-centred — celebrating every participant’s strength while building communication, teamwork and creative expression. Each group works towards sharing performances throughout the year, giving participants the chance to shine on stage and connect with the wider community.
At Reality Theatre CIC, our Additional Learning Needs programme for young people 16-plus and adults is all about creativity, confidence and belonging. We offer weekly drama, theatre and performance sessions at the Riverfront and the Cab, providing a supportive space where young people and adults can explore storytelling, movement, character work and ensemble skills at their own pace.
Beyond our drama programme, we also run three weekly activities at The Cab:
- Coleg Gwent ILS programme — drama and performance for students and their tutors
- Social Club — a relaxed, friendly space for games, activities, creativity and connection.
- Rob’s School of Rock — high-energy music sessions where participants can learn instruments, jam together and build their confidence through sound.
Whether someone is stepping into the arts for the first time or developing their creative journey further, our 16-plus ALN programme offers a warm, inclusive environment where everyone is valued, supported and encouraged to thrive.
