Feedback from young people/adults with ALN revealed challenges with anxiety and accessibility, difficulties accessing activities independently, as well as specific needs related to blindness, autism, and other disabilities. Nearly half identified our drama sessions as their only form of community engagement
Our work with disabled participants and/or those with learning disabilities has highlighted that over 50% of these participants live within the care system, either supported, independent or shared living, which results in extreme isolation and lack of socialisation. Our work aims to target these issues, providing a safe and welcome environment where friendships can be made, confidence and self-esteem can be improved, and socialisation skills are central to our work.
